Guide Review - LearnSmart Video Training

Enrolling for a training class can be a real pain. It is usually difficult to find a convenient time and location. With the demands of the busy professional in mind, many training and practice test vendors are designing ways to get you ready for your exams at your own pace, in your chosen location. Preplogic's LearnSmart Video Training is an excellent example. The training is presented by Mike Meyers, a well-known author of multiple certification books.

Overall, I thought that the training videos provide a terrific way to help you learn the topic. Nothing can replace the interacive environment of a classroom, but if you are a visual learner, this training is far more interesting and holds your attention far better than a book. The graphics and diagrams used are excellent and are rarely static, moving around just enough to provide an effective visual aid without being annoying. Mike Myers' narration is clear, upbeat, and easy to follow. Watching the video is a lot like sitting in on a class lecture. I found myself learning quite a lot about OSI Layers without even thinking about it!

Essentially, this training is structured like a dynamic version of a certification book. The coverage of the exam material is thorough but beginners to the subject will still need to have a good study guide or practice questions (conveniently available as packages with the video training) to review some of the more difficult topics.
